Arzenu is the political voice of Reform, Progressive, and Liberal Religious Zionists within the World Zionist Organization and its subsidiaries. Founded in 1980 as an “ideological grouping” (Brit Olamit), Arzenu has member groups in 15 countries worldwide.
Through our political strength within the National Institutions, we advocate for our values to the Israeli government. We aim to achieve recognition and respect for the Reform Movement as a legitimate branch of Judaism by the Israeli government. Additionally, we support the Israeli Reform Movement in its fight for key issues.

Although only Israeli citizens can vote in the Knesset elections, all Jews have the right to participate in the elections for the World Zionist Congress. These elections determine the political balance of power within the National Institutions for the respective term. A strong election result for Arzenu maximizes the political influence of the Reform Movement and ensures access to significant resources allocated by the Zionist movement.
As passionate Zionists, we believe that Israel should hold a prominent place in all Reform, Progressive, and Liberal Jewish communities worldwide. Together with our local members, we bring Israel into our communities and support the work of the Israeli Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism (IMPJ) through educational activities and visits from Israeli Reform rabbis and community leaders.
