The 39th World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem

From October 28 to 30, 2025, the 39th Congress of the World Zionist Organization (WZO) will take place in Jerusalem. The Congress will bring together delegates and representatives from Israel and the Diaspora – people committed to shaping Zionism in the 21st century and redefining its role in a changing world.

Since the first Zionist Congress in 1897 in Basel, this gathering has served as the central forum of the global Zionist movement. It stands not only as a symbol of Jewish self-determination but also as a venue for genuine political and social decision-making. The resolutions passed at the Congress influence institutions that shape Jewish life worldwide – from educational initiatives to questions concerning the Israel–Diaspora relationship.

Under the theme “Connecting Generations, Ideas, and Jews from Israel and the Diaspora,” the Congress aims to build bridges – across cultures, generations, and perspectives. Discussions, thematic forums, and voting sessions will address key contemporary challenges: the transformation of Jewish identity, the evolving relationship between Israel and the Diaspora, and responses to global social and political dynamics.

About us

Arzenu is the political voice of Reform, Progressive, and Liberal Religious Zionists within the World Zionist Organization and its subsidiaries.

Founded in 1980 as an “ideological grouping” or Brit Olamit within the World Zionist Organization, Arzenu has member groups in fifteen countries worldwide and pursues a dual mission: promoting Zionist interests and activities in our communities in collaboration with local members, and ensuring that Reform Jewish values and interests are represented in the governing bodies of Israel’s National Institutions—the World Zionist Organization, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, and the Jewish Agency for Israel.

We leverage our political strength within the National Institutions to advocate for our values to the Israeli government. Arzenu Austria was founded in 2024 as the successor organization to Pro-Zion Austria, continuing its longstanding and successful work. Pro-Zion Austria, established in July 2012, served as the Austrian representation of Arzenu Olami – a movement advocating for the interests of Jewish liberal, progressive, and Reform communities within the World Zionist Organization. Arzenu Austria carries forward these well-established initiatives and develops them with a forward-looking approach to strengthen our shared commitment sustainably.
